1)How many soldiers would've died if HUssein possessed either nerve gas or nukes?

2)How many civilians need to die before John Kerry thinks it is an act of war and not a criminal matter.

3)If the invasion in 1993 cost X dollars, if the invasion in 2003 costs 2x, what would be the cost on invading say in 2010.

4)How many communist and socialist regimes have been utter failures.

5)How many generations need to deny they are liberals until the word evaporates from the vocabulary?

6)How many countries not named USA have had a significant sicentific or medical breakthrough in the last 15yrs?

Another question would be how many more years would the libs have wanted us to maintain (and pay the cost of) the no-fly zones in Iraq to keep Saddam "contained"? 10 years, 20 years, 30 years? And don't say Saddam would have died soon anyway, because his equally evil sons would have taken right over.

DNA was discovered by Franklin and Wilkins at King's College in London as well as Watson and Clark of Cavendish at Cambridge University. It is my understanding that the latter two were working on elements of their doctorates at the time. Both colleges were receiving varying amounts of public funds in the year of the discovery, in 1953. Watson, Clark and Wilkins won a Nobel Prize for their efforts in 1962 ... had Franklin still been alive, she likely would have been a Nobel recipient as well, ahead of Wilkins.

Really Panda?

So all the hub bub about breaking the genetic code ten yrs ago was bunk?

Sad day when you have to go back 50yrs and use a quasi private institution to actually come up with something.

How about the last noteworthy drug to come from socialism?

Isn't that kinda like saying MicroSoft invented the computer? Breaking the genetic code is an offshoot of the discovery of DNA. Step B relied on the work of Step A's researchers, who were neither American nor employed by private enterprise, which was your initial assertion. Fifty years ago or yesterday has no relevance.

no relevance, are you on drugs?

you had to go back half a century to come up with anything and that is on the shakiest of grounds at the very best,

citing any academic instituition's work as being the product of socialism is stretching beyond the breaking point,

afterall Cambridge is a private university, that relies on prvate money to exist, hardly socialist.

Now back to actual subject at hand, so 50yrs ago two UK scientists discovered DNA (I am taking your word), and 50yrs later UK still not solving the genetic code?

What was the last noteworthy drug or piece of medical equipment that came from the UK?

How did the socialists do competing vs the US and JAP selling cars the last 30yrs?

Hey, dumbass, I didn't 'go back fifty years to find something' but, rather, refuted your assertion that genomics is an American, privately funded discovery. Cambridge relies on some public funding (and did in 1953) as do many Canadian universities, and I presume from the language you've used earlier, that you consider Canada to be socialist. Ipso facto, your argument is ****ed up.

Your argument that the UK did not manage to crack the genetic code as an example of socialist (which it's not anyway) failing is as absurd as an assertion by me that since it took capitalism 30 years to do something with the DNA discovery, that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

At any rate, I am not interested in going back to find 'inventions' and such that have come from socialism because a. I know shit about inventions because I could care less and b. I also don't consider them to be the only societal measuring stick. I just happened to know you were wrong about DNA and thought I'd be helpful to you and point that out.

ROTFLMAO,
hey buddy, DNA is not genomics, hate to rain on the parade and all, but DNA is a bunch of cells, genomics is the advanced study of these cells, I do not even think the word was in the language in the 1950's.
Good try though sport.

american capital markets financed the greatest advancements of mankind in the 20th century,

looking like lots more of the same in the 21st.

why? because greed is the most efficient motivator of man, greed will alwaysd out perform state run beauracracy,

you know pfizer can now bring a new drug to market for less than $1billion US, the socialist equivalent? Has to be 100 times that, else why no new drugs from the socialists?

Fine. But genomics wouldn't exist if not for the discovery of DNA, yes? I'm in advertising not bioblahblahblah ... just so happens I ran a campaign last year that commemmorated this discovery for a client of mine. I know sweet ****all about the sciences and could care less.

(Btw, Pfizer doesn't count -- the pharmaceutical industry in the US is artificially propped up by the FDA and federal gov't which is where half the stink about reimportation of drugs comes from. Yes, I know we regulate prices here to keep them low, but yours are regulated to keep them high. It might be called a 'private' institution, but it sure isn't a private industry.)

you talking about taxes?

Have proof?

Last I looked the US government was the single largest consumer of medicine in the world, why would they deliberately overcharge themselves?
